Showtime U - October 28, 2026

Record breaking performances set the stage for another week of high-flying action for members of The Protect U Crew. Beyond the records set by College Park's Duke Stephens and The Woodlands' Magnus Herndon, the noteworthy stats in this week's Showtime U turned heads with their standout production.

Showtime U Stats

Returning for another mention in Showtime U is Oak Ridge High School running back Cody Cooksey. His incredible rushing in his most recent performance against Caney Creek was enough to outscore the entire Panther team, with 322 yards and five touchdowns in the 45-26 win. Cooksey still stands as the most productive rusher in Texas District 13-6A, and he does not show any signs of slowing down as the War Eagles prepare for their final two games of the season.

Klein Cain got back into the win column last Friday on the back of a strong showing from Eyan Johnson, the Hurricanes' versatile running back. Johnson's efficient running against Tomball Memorial stood out, as he converted nine carries into 110 yards and two touchdowns. The 12.2 yards per carry established a solid flow for the Hurricane offense on their way to a 44-10 win that keeps Klein Cain within the heated Texas District 15-6A playoff chase.

Brooks McGee received recognition for his efforts in Hendrix College's 42-32 win over Austin College on Saturday. The gritty wide receiver played a steady role in the team's win, securing six catches for a team-leading 101 yards and a touchdown. McGee's contributions were much needed in securing Hendrix's fifth win of the season, bringing the team back to their winning ways.

The varied talents of Clear Lake's TJ Stinson continue to boggle the mind, with another Showtime U-worthy performance. Stinson's six tackles were to be expected for such a talented defender, but it was the offensive production of four carries, one reception, 1/1 passing for a combined total of 84 yards and two touchdowns that served as the cherry on top of the football sundae. Stinson remains a mainstay in Showtime U week after week, and it is easy to see why, with his truly dazzling stat sheets.

Tomball High School also saw a lot of diverse play from its athletes in their most recent matchup, and Chance Green stood out as one of the most important contributors. The traditional defensive back played his role to perfection, getting four tackles and allowing zero receptions to opposing receivers. But it was when his number was called on offense that Green stepped up, catching three passes for 92 yards and taking one to the house. Green has taken more reps with the offense in the recent weeks for the Tomball Cougars, and with the team pushing for the playoffs, it looks like the "all hands on deck" approach will carry the team.

Make sure to return next Wednesday for another Showtime U Blog right here on Protection United. To have a shot at being mentioned in Showtime U or being shown on the Protect U Podcast in Ball & Get the Call, please be sure to send in your stats and highlights.
