Duke Stephens sets Career Rushing Yards record at College Park High School

College Park High School running back, Duke Stephens, etched his name into history following a standout performance on Thursday night to become the Cavalier's all-time career leading rusher.
With a lot riding on College Park's performance against district opponent Grand Oaks, the Cavaliers needed all hands on deck to secure the important win. Luckily for the Cavs, the dependable Duke Stephens back stepped up and delivered.
Stephens set the gridiron on fire by blazing through the Grizzly defense to the tune of 23 carries for 249 yards and four touchdowns on the night. His production was enough to match all of Grand Oaks' production himself, aiding in the 48-24 win for College Park, but it was the sheer amount of yards he put up that defined the night.
Stephens' stats were more than enough for him to become the all-time leader in rushing yards in College Park Cavaliers history. Since the school's opening in 2005, no athlete had been as prolific in their career as the one and only Duke Stephens.
In an exclusive interview with Protection United's writers, Stephens explained that it was business as usual in another high-stakes game.
"It felt great just doing what my team needed me to do to get a win," said Stephens. "They depended on me to score. It was a great team effort from all sides, and the record just came with it."
After the win last night, College Park now prepares to take its all-time leading rusher into the playoffs with a steady position set for itself in the Texas District 13-6A standings. There are two more games on the schedule for Stephens to set the bar even higher on an already historic career.
