Showtime U - October 21, 2026

Jake Wilson

The fall weather has hit for many, making the perfect setting for another week of football action. The heat of the regular season keeps things warm, and the talent of The Protect U Crew makes things even hotter, with another edition of Showtime U highlighting some of the very best.

Showtime U Stats

Abilene Christian found their guy in the form of starting quarterback Tucker Parks, who continues to produce for the Wildcat offense. Parks' 21/25, 14 carries, 322 total yards of offense, and two touchdowns catapulted the Wildcats to victory in their 31-28 game on Saturday. Parks and the Wildcats remain hot, with a three-game winning streak now going into the bye week.

Another appearance on The Showtime U Blog for Oak Ridge High School's Cody Cooksey emphasizes his consistent work as the War Eagle running back. His 30 carries and 164 rushing yards for two touchdowns were the highlight of Oak Ridge's most recent district game, but it wasn't the only reason Cooksey's night was worth celebrating. Cooksey now sits comfortably on the plus side of the 1,000-yard mark for the season, leading all of Texas District 13-6A in rushing yards.

Darnell Jackson Jr. continues to put up video game numbers for the Grand Oaks Grizzlies, with his most recent performance standing out for its incredible efficiency. Though Jackson only had two catches in Grand Oaks' most recent game, they both reached the end zone and combined for 117 yards. Batting 1.000 on turning catches into touchdowns got Jackson into this week's Showtime U ahead of the team's important matchup against College Park on Friday.

TJ Stinson remains a fixture of Showtime U with his incredibly versatile skill set on the gridiron. The Clear Lake athlete secured four tackles, a pick-six, three catches, two carries, and 81 yards as part of the Falcon defense and offense. The sheer diversity present in Stinson's abilities showcases his "get after it" attitude that continues to produce eye-catching stat lines.

A true defensive workhorse, Dawson "The Duke" Campbell played dominating football for the Magnolia West Mustangs on Friday night. Mag West pulled off their biggest win of the season by locking down the Klein Collins Tigers in an 18-15 win, and Campbell was a massive part of it. Campbell's 12 tackles and a fumble recovery were instrumental in the defensive battle that kept his tackles-per-game average at a clean 12. The Duke continues to lead Texas District 15-6A in tackles for the season, and there are no signs that the production will drop off.

Be sure to come back here next Wednesday for another edition of the Showtime U Blog. To have a chance at getting mentioned in Showtime U or Ball & Get the Call, please send in your stats and highlights so hosts Jay Mickens and Jake Wilson can show off the very best that The Protect U Crew has to offer.
