Showtime U - September 9, 2026

Another week of action for the Protection United Crew is in the books, which means we are back with another edition of the Showtime U Blog. We have plenty of big-time performances to highlight from the Protect U Crew, so let’s dive into the stats.

Showtime U Stats

2029 Boerne Champion QB Ryder Flugence completed 15 of 19 passing attempts for 239 yards and five passing touchdowns against Long Creek. Flugence also tacked on 84 rushing yards and one rushing touchdown. Next up for the Chargers is a home contest against Cedar Creek.

Cash Ferrell, 2027 running back at Magnolia, showed he could do it all this week against College Station. Ferrell had 134 total yards on the day and contributed a rushing touchdown, receiving touchdown, and a passing touchdown. The Bulldogs have a big game coming up as they face crosstown rival Magnolia West next week.

2027 Opelika RB Jalen Nelson turned in another strong performance with 18 carries for 125 yards against Enterprise. Nelson also found the end zone three times with two rushing touchdowns and one receiving touchdown. Next up for Nelson and Opelika is a meeting with Central High School of Phenix City, Alabama.

In the college ranks, Rice RB Tyvonn Byars turned in a strong showing with 16 carries for 104 rushing yards against Houston Christian. The Owls have a big road game next week as they hit the road to take on Notre Dame in South Bend.

2027 Klein Collins RB Tyce Hudson had a solid performance against Willis as he went for two touchdowns and 121 total yards. Hudson will look to keep turning in strong performances as Klein Collins takes on Tomball Memorial next week.

Dakota Clarke, 2027 TE out of Lake Creek, put on a show against St. Thomas with seven catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns. Clarke and Lake Creek will face Cleveland in Week Three as the Lions look to add to the win total.

Dawson Campbell’s incredibly productive season continued as the 2027 LB / DB from Magnolia West notched 17 tackles against Cypress Creek. Next up for Campbell and the Mustangs is the Magnolia Bowl against Magnolia High.

2027 Willis DB Amajai Friend secured 12 tackles against Klein Collins in Week Two of Texas high school football action. Friend and Willis have a huge game against Westfield in Week Three.

Heading back to the college ranks, Florida defensive tackle Jeramiah McCloud had eight total tackles, two of which were solo. The Gator DT also had one PBU against Florida Atlantic. McCloud and the Gators will face Campbell in Week Two of college football.

2027 Montgomery DB Jamarcus Nickerson had seven tackles and one fumble recovery in action against Grand Oaks. Next up for Nickerson and Montgomery is a contest against Oak Ridge.
